Tuesday's Earnings Gainers: OSK, DW, AIN, TXRH

Nov 03, 2009 (MarketNewsVideo.com via COMTEX News Network) -- Specialty vehicle manufacturer Oshkosh Corporation (OSK) posted income from continuing operations of 63 cents per share for the quarter, which compares to 84 cents in the prior year's quarter. Results were helped by the company's defense business, where factories are ramping up to supply 1000 M-ATVs per month by December to troops in Afghanistan. Oshkosh shares gained almost 11% in Tuesday trading.

Recreational vehicle components company Drew Industries (DW) posted a third quarter profit of 33 cents per share, up from 12 cents in the same quarter last year. Drew said that over the last few months, production levels in the RV industry have exceeded expectations, noting that historically, the RV industry has been a leading indicator of broader economic recoveries. Drew shares advanced more than 11%.

Textiles and materials processing company Albany International (AIN) reported a net loss of 20 cents per share for the third quarter. Excluding special items, earnings would have been positive 31 cents. Net sales were down 18.4% year over year, but ticked up by 2.5% from the prior quarter helped by sales in Asia. Shares of Albany International gained 12%.

And shares of Texas Roadhouse (TXRH) were up nearly 15%, after the company reported third quarter earnings of 15 cents per share, up from 12 cents in the same quarter last year. Total revenue grew 4% year over year, even as comparable restaurant sales fell 4.6% at company owned restaurants.
